The award winning exhibit titled "A Rural Way of Life" interprets Andrew County's history from 1841 to the 21st Century. It explores the history of farming as well as small towns by contrasting and comparing life "in town" with life "on the farm."

Patee House Museum is a National Historic Landmark that served as the headquarters of the Pony Express and the St. Joseph Civil War headquarters. Two floors of exhibits include an 1860 train, working carousel, antique vehicles and more.
