Topic: "Unlikely Business Success: Five Techniques for Making it Work your Way, Even if it's a Long Shot"
Guest Speaker: Dan Danford, MBA, CFP founder of Family Investment Center
1. Being different gets you noticed. Don't worry if you're a little different. (This applies to starting a new business or expanding your current one).
2. Show up early. It may not be overnight, but if a business idea really works, trends will turn in favor of it.
3. Communicate plainly. Another aspect of Danford’s approach to business is speaking to clients like they are a friend.
4. Focus on the important stuff. Keeping customer-focused isn’t always easy, but it pays off.
5. Help others Share your Story. Danford can also talk about how to use social media to help a business become part of the community and generate more interest.
Attendees will learn how to take risks in a business and entrepreneurial situation to create big pay-offs. These five tips have worked in Dan’s life and business and he has the desire to share his experiences with other Chamber members who may be starting out or ready to take a big leap to their next business venture.
